Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Özaltın Construction and Ukrhydroenergo
Özaltın Construction has signed memorandum of understanding with Ukrhydroenergo for construction of Kakhovka II HEPP and Kaniv PSP Projects located on Dnieper River.
Kakhovka II Project is a construction of new hydropower plant having capacity of 250 MW composed of 4 units each with 62.5 MW located on the existing dam axis.
Kaniv PSPP Project is a construction of pumped storage power plant having energy production capacity of 1000 MW composed of 4 units each with 250 MW and pumping capacity of 1040 MW. Moreover; the Project also includes construction of a reservoir located 110 meters above current reservoir having 17 million m³ active storage capacity and transmission line having diameter of 8 meters.
Ukrhydroenergo, owned by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, is the biggest hydropower generating company in Ukraine, which owns and operates portfolio of Hydropower Plants on the Dnieper and Dniester rivers. At the beginning of 2019, the company has reached the hydropower installed capacity of 5758 MW.
